Wordpress & Style Guide for CelinesTorbio.net

Below you will find guides to updating portions of the CelinesToribio.net website using the Wordpress CMS, as well as suggestions for sizing and styling of content.

Logging In to Wordpress CMS

  1. Go to http://www.celinestoribio.net/wp-admin.
  2. Enter username & password.
  3. Click Log In.

Editing a Page or Post

  1. Go to Pages or Posts.
  2. Click on a page or post title.
  3. Edit as desired.
  4. Click Update.
Notes:
  • Toggle between English and Español versions of a page or post with the tabs above the content area.
  • In the Pages area, sub-pages have — before them. To edit the About Celinés page, you need to go to the sub-page.
  • The Thank You page is the page that users see when they sign up for the Celines newsletter.

Adding a Community Page

  1. Go to Pages.
  2. Click Add New.
  3. Under the Page Attributes section, select Community from the Parent drop-down menu. Also select Community from the Template drop-down menu.
  4. Fill in Title (English) and Title (Español).
  5. Fill in the content. Be sure to fill in for both English and Español by using the tabs above the content area.
  6. If adding an image, click the Add an Image button above the content area. Recommended size for Community banner images is 590px wide by 160px tall. Image must be inserted in both English and Español content areas.

Adding to News Section

  1. Go to Posts.
  2. Click Add New.
  3. Fill in Title (English) and Title (Español).
  4. Fill in the content. Be sure to fill in for both English and Español by using the tabs above the content area.
  5. If adding an image, click the Add an Image button above the content area. (Max image width of 590px.) Image must be inserted in both English and Español content areas. (Once image is uploaded and inserted in one area, you can toggle to HTML and copy the code.)
  6. You can select categories from the Categores section on the right. (If no category is selected, the post will go under the Updates category by default.) Add a category by clicking Add New Category.

Adding a YouTube Video to a Post or Page

On the youtube video page:
  1. Click Embed.
  2. From the checkboxes that appear below, check Use old embed code.
  3. From the options for video dimensions, under Custom enter 588 for pixel width. Height will be calculated automatically.
  4. Copy embed code.
  5. Paste into content area of desired page or post in Wordpress. It is important to note that if you would like the video to show on both English and Español versions of the page, you must paste the code in the content area for both sections.

  • Additions or modifications to photo galleries (in both Media and Press sections)
  • Addition of top nav sections and pages
  • Modifications to site design
