Trópico De Sangre takes place in the 1950’s and depicts the challenges these four Dominican women faced in their homeland during the ruthless dictatorship of Rafael Leónidas Trujillo (Juan Fernandez). The Caribbean revolution was led by Minerva Mirabal (Michelle Rodriguez) and her sisters Patria (Luchy Estevez), Maria Teresa (Sharlene Taulet) and Dedé (Celinés Toribio).
